I think it was a metaphor. Or a warning.
So, as we were unpacking rat gate this morning my mom said
“This reminds me of when we’d catch wharf rats out of the feed corn at the farm growing up. They were about yea long (measures about 18 inches) and went ‘EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE’ as soon as you’d pick up the trap. They were huge and mean, so we’d take the whole trap and toss it in the pond, rats and all.”
Then she went back to washing out the coffee pot.
I’m going to try harder not to piss off my mother the rest of this trip.
